NEW !     INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE - CONTEMPORARY TRENDS IN TEACHING AND LEARNING GEOGRAPHY, 1-3 SEPTEMBER 2006

     Organized by the Faculty of Geographjy, the Department for Training Didactic staff, Faculty of Psychology and Educational Science of "Babş-Bolyai" University and the Reading and Writing for Developing Critical Thniking Romania, Cluj-Napoca. The aim of the conference is to promote the best practice in teaching and learning Geography. During the conference, the educational specialists and practicians have the opportunity of sharing their experience related to active teaching and learning, e-learning, developing the practical abilities and achieving competences, the assessment of the results belonging to students learning in different educational systems. The conference is open both to those teaching in the university and in the pre-university system, who are interested in quality interactive teaching. We are waiting for you to share your knowledge and practice in the Didactics of Geography.

We would like to offer you: :
• materials to be used by teachers in designing and organizing teaching activities in order to increase the quality of teaching and learning geography and through geography
• information useful for the students during innitial training and for the teachers during continuous training
• the opportunity for Geography students and teachers to share their resources and experiences.

By the content and the cooperation in making this site, we would like to contribute to:
• increasing the quality of teaching, learning and evaluating in pre-university and university education;
• increasing the level of professional competence of Geography teachers;
• the awareness of the present and acute role of geography and geographers in developing practical skills and in the education necessary for Romanian terrritorial planning in the context of Romania's integration in the EU and of other global changes with critical outcomes in the Romanian area;
• establish interpersonal professional relationships between students, primary school teachers, pre-university teachers and university teachers, in order to facilitate the exchange of ideas and to cooperate at projects, for the benefit of pupils, students, teachers and the whole society.
